50 years in the life of a farm... Haute Savoie, 1972: The Bertrand farm, a dairy farm with around 100 animals, is run by three single brothers. Their neighbor is the director Gilles Perret, who dedicates his first film to them in 1997, just as the three farmers are about to hand over the farm to their nephew Patrick and his wife Hélène. 25 years later, the director's neighbor picks up the camera again to accompany Hélène as she hands over the farm. Through the words and gestures of the characters, the film reveals harrowing life stories in which work and handing over occupy a central place: an intimate, social and economic history of our rural world.

Gilles Perret, who still lives in Quincy, has always known the three brothers, known as "les tontons", and the Bertrand family. "Their house is less than 100 meters from my house. As a child, I had a lot of fun on the farm and drove tractors with them. I knew each other really well." - A closeness and bond that is reflected in the film.
