The world is fucked and FRAUPAUL are releasing their debut album: "Hol mir die Sterne zurück". Both the album and the title are a real challenge, almost a reproach. "I want my sky back, an orientation, because when I look up, it's dark," says Lisa, front woman of FRAUPAUL. Few live bands generate so much fun with so much depth. FRAUPAUL live is a must-see, "Aber Hallo!" as a tour name is only logical.

If they didn't already exist, they would have to be invented. This band is different and in the right place at the right time. Direct, powerful and intelligent on top. Lisa Paul, Mary Vonk and Linda Sidaro play alternative punk rock and formed in Hamburg in 2021.

FRAUPAUL effortlessly combine their different backgrounds to create a unique sound. Wide walls of guitars, strong rhythms and a focus on vocals. Frontwoman and namesake Lisa Paul sings, plays guitar, produces and writes lyrics with a focus on relationships, politics and mental health: "I've experienced so many difficult things, gone through excesses, depression and burn-out. FRAUPAUL is my emancipation from that." Mary Vonk plays bass, sings backing vocals and manages the band logistics. As extroverted as she is on stage, her social phobia gets to her in everyday life: "I shout at people on stage and at home I hardly dare ask the neighbor for my package." The two of them can literally sing a song about how liberating it is to break out of your patterns and be true to yourself. "Have the courage baby! Show what you can do! is therefore also our message," confirms Linda Sidaro. As a drummer, she not only sets the timing on stage, but also always has a good feeling for the right phrase at the right moment backstage.

The fact that FRAUPAUL not only give themselves enough space, but also their audience, may also explain the appeal of their live shows. Between thought-provoking songs and participatory parts, they involve their fans, be it with an emotional announcement or surprising requests to stop dancing. Or as FRAUPAUL would put it: "There are people who play concerts, we play shows!" So it's not surprising that the band has already captivated audiences from Sylt to Solothurn over a hundred times in just three years. They are going their own way, self-determined and ambitious.

Their first EP "Gut genug" (2021) was created entirely on their own - in kitchens, living rooms and bedrooms. Doing things their own way and not letting anyone tell them what to do is a fundamental part of the band's philosophy. Just one year later, the second EP "Was, wenn wir dann durchdrehen" was released, this time professionally produced. In February, FRAUPAUL released their debut album "Hol mir die Sterne zurück", for the realization of which they had organized a successful crowdfunding campaign. Within four months, 14,550 euros were raised through donations from fans and supporters, which were used to finance the extensive studio production.
