In this concert, the renowned Stuttgart-based ensemble Ascolta performs contemporary Spanish composers. The concert begins with compositions by Alberto Posadas and Beltran Gonzales. Gonzales writes about his piece: "It grows slowly from within... In many forms and spaces, one after the other. Will it break out? We don't know yet..." One of the main roles is played by the trumpet. Another leading role is played by the light art of Bremen artist Katharina Berndt, who uses overhead projections to bring the space to life in real time.

In particular, "Fremdkörper/Variations" by Spanish composer Elena Mendoza, who will also be present at the concert, deals with the festival's motto. What do we perceive? How do we perceive what is foreign and what is our own? Everyday objects ("foreign objects") are used to make music and integrated into the composition. We try out and vary, but the objects do not sound as we are used to.

The light artist Katharina Berndt creates visual worlds in real time using overhead projectors that take over the space and congenially expand the music.
