Frente Cumbiero

[DEU] Frente Cumbiero are one of the most influential formations of contemporary cumbia in Latin America. Led by Colombian producer Mario Galeano Toro, they are regarded as the spearhead of the new cumbia movement. As a live quartet, they combine wind instruments, percussion and electronic sequences to create a powerful, danceable sound. International festival appearances have taken them to New York (MoMA), Roskilde, Fuji Rock and Womad, among others. They have toured Latin America, Africa, Europe, the USA, Russia, Japan, Australia and New Zealand. The celebrated EP Minyo Cumbiero was released in 2020 with the Japanese band Minyo Crusaders. Frente Cumbiero are not a fad - for over 10 years they have been living cumbia according to the call of the guacharaca.

[With a long and successful career, Frente Cumbiero are one of the most influential acts in contemporary Cumbia from Latin America. They've toured across Latin America, Africa, Europe, the US, Russia, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand. In 2020, they released the acclaimed Minyo CumbieroEP with Japan's Minyo Crusaders. Active for over a decade, and going way beyond the concept of cumbia as fashion, Frente Cumbiero are the true followers of the guacharaca calling.
