FREQUENZ MAGAZIN celebrates its anniversary

Frequenz is an independent music magazine from Munich. Since May 2022, we have been passionately publishing online articles several times a week as a volunteer editorial team. We report on new albums, singles and EPs, look back at music history and shed light on current developments in music. We often write from a local Munich perspective. There are reports, portraits of labels or artists or even series of events such as the Feierwerk Sessions. Here we present (still) small artists from Munich who want to make it onto the big stage. Our magazine brings together the frequencies of the city. Young, critical, independent and always on the pulse of music.
But our collaboration with Feierwerk doesn't stop there: Frequenz will be three years old in May 2025 - and to celebrate, we're putting on our own festival evening. Three local musicians and bands will provide a diverse music program and a unique summer evening! We want to celebrate with you, get into conversation and enjoy music together. Come along, we look forward to seeing you! A surprise is also planned...

DANIEL HE

Between near and far, Munich and Wuhan - a young singer/songwriter from China touches you with his voice. His songs, somewhere between Damien Rice and Nick Drake, are intimate snapshots that tell of the grief for his mother, the feeling of being a stranger in his own homeland and the search for new happiness. With an open-tuned guitar and a deep sense of melancholy, DANIEL HE combines neo-folk influences from the American and British scene with his own cultural background. (Source: Artist)

ENLIGHTENMENT AND RUFO

ERLEUCHTUNG UND RUFO is a queerfeminist punk-pop band from Munich. They have been making brilliant, moving and terribly good music together for three years now. With the great Nico on guitar, Larsi Hasi on drums, Spüli and Dodo - no, not the bird - on vocals and the brilliant Liv das Schiff on bass.
The band started out on Soundcloud. At some point, they decided to take the whole thing to the big stage. After all, it would be totally outrageous not to share it with the whole world. Suddenly, together with Liv, Lars and Nico, they were writing beautiful songs about diarrhea, punanis and men (both heartache and misandry, always good mediocrity!!).
They also rock the stage with their costumes tailored by Dodorella Mc$wag. From favorite vegetables to Tarantino characters, the band is up for any mischief. Don't miss this brilliant stage show, because ERLEUCHTUNG UND RUFO is the best, sexiest band you'll ever see! (Statement Spüli, lead singer of the band, (totally impartial!)).

LENER

LENER has actually been making music for a long time. She originally comes from a classical music background, completed her A-levels on the guitar and grew up in a musical family. In 2012, she founded a jazzy indie pop duo with her sister Sophie. The siblings released two albums under the name "SweetLemon", were streamed by over 200,000 monthly listeners on Spotify, played a lot live and won several newcomer awards. At the beginning of 2022, LENER finally launched their solo project and sang the main vocals for the first time. Today, LENER sounds rockier and louder. She listened to bands like "The Strokes", "Two Door Cinema Club" or "Phoenix" back in her school days, and today she listens to "The Linda Lindas" or Brockhoff, among others. LENER loves loud band rehearsals, the sound of distorted guitars over tube amps and studio sessions until dawn. 2025 will see the release of her second EP, which is supported by Initiale Musik.
