Frisch gepresst mit Salih Jamal - „Vor der Nacht"

In the organizer's words:

At the age of fourteen, Jimmy is sent to a children's home. There he makes friends with five other children. They are there for each other because there is no one else. But two of them disappear. When Jimmy comes of age, he searches for his missing friends and a story about guilt, forgiveness and the pursuit of a better life unfolds.

Salih Jamal, born in 1966, has his roots in Palestine. He lives in Düsseldorf. His debut Letters to the Green Fairy won the Skoutz Award in 2018 and his novel The Perfect Gray was one of the ten best books by independent publishers in 2021.

The event will be moderated by Michael Serrer, Literaturbüro NRW and is being held in collaboration with Düsseldorf Central Library and the Freundeskreis Stadtbüchereien Düsseldorf.
