denk.mal Hannoverscher Bahnhof - Why here? History and remembrance in HafenCity

The denk.mal Hannoverscher Bahnhof memorial has been located in the middle of Lohsepark since 2017. It commemorates the more than 8,000 people who were deported from here to ghettos, concentration and extermination camps under National Socialism. A documentation center will be built in the immediate vicinity by 2026, which will shed light on this part of Hamburg's history. In the nearby Überseequartier, there is another memorial in the form of denk.mal Fruchtschuppen C. We invite you to explore the memorial landscape in HafenCity: Who was committed to which project here, and what obstacles had to be overcome? What do the design and architectural concepts look like?

The tour starts at 2 p.m. at the denk.mal Hannoverscher Bahnhof information pavilion on Lohseplatz in Lohsepark.
