Some like it wild - winter paradise for garden animals

Westfalenpark Dortmund is home to many wild animals - even in the cold season! How can we create good spaces for them to spend the winter in and provide a good supply of water and food? Our horticultural team will show you how easy it is to provide shelter and food sources for insects, birds, squirrels, hedgehogs and the like in a near-natural garden. These important structures can usually be implemented with little effort: A decorative pile of dead wood, a small pile of leaves, shrubs that are only cut back in April or fruit that is not all picked. The guided tour provides even more valuable information and practical tips.

In the "Knowhow to go - guided tours with a focus" series, Westfalenpark employees share their knowledge with interested visitors - "Knowhow to go".
