WERK 2 opens its doors and provides a look behind the scenes and into the history of the former factory site.
The Kulturfabrik was built in 1848 as a gas knife factory and was used by VEB Werkstoffprüfmaschinen Leipzig until reunification. After that, WERK 2 - Kulturfabrik Leipzig e.V. was founded in 1992 and breathed new life into the derelict site.
Since then, WERK 2 has been active as a socio-cultural center with an extensive program and workshops.
This tour offers insights into the premises that guests are usually denied and is peppered with all kinds of anecdotes from old and new times.
