FÜHRUNG: Vier Schicksale – zwei Orte: Täter und Opfer, Verfolgung und Verbrechen in Köln und Brauweiler

The EL-DE House in Cologne and the former labor camp in Brauweiler - two places that were both used as places of detention by the Cologne Gestapo and were places of persecution, crime, torture and murder, especially at the end of the war.
Heinz Humbach, Teofila Turska, Ilse Neugebauer and Fritz Theilen - four life stories, four stories of persecution that connect the two places.
Learn more about the work of the Gestapo in Cologne and Brauweiler and the four biographies, each of which stands for a group of persecuted people: the National Committee for a Free Germany and the resistance at the end of the war, the persecution of forced laborers, the fate of Jewish people and the persecution of non-conformist young people, in this event organized in cooperation with the EL-DE House and the LVR Cultural Center Brauweiler Abbey.
You will visit the memorial and permanent exhibition in the EL-DE House. Afterwards, Dr. Markus Thulin, memorial site educator in Brauweiler, will provide insights into the use of the former Brauweiler workhouse online and live from the memorial site there. Take the opportunity and take a look at the digital workshop of the same name in advance to prepare yourself specifically for the tour.
