The award-winning FUKIO QUARTET has been intensively involved with the literature for saxophone for many years and performs on renowned European concert stages. They play original compositions and their own exciting arrangements. A creative mix and a unique chamber re-mix.

The FUKIO QUARET has won prizes at the Concurso Permanente de Juventudes Musicales España, La Porta Clàssica Barcelona and the Yamaha International Chamber Music Competition in Madrid. It was awarded the gold medal at the UGDA Competition in Luxembourg and first prize at the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy Competition of German Music Universities, the COOP Music Awards in Milan and the Karlsruhe Competition for the Interpretation of New Music. The Fukio Saxophone Quartet also received a concert scholarship from the Werner Richard - Dr. Carl Dörken Foundation. In 2017, the ensemble won first prize at the 20th Concours International de Musique de Chambre in Illzach. This was followed in 2019 by a Gold Medal in the Chamber Music category at the First Vienna International Music Competition in Vienna.

Her program combines works from different eras and styles and features both original works for saxophone and arrangements of string quartets. The program opens with Mellits' Tapas, a collection of short, minimalist pieces. Lauridsen's O Magnum Mysterium impresses with its tonal depth, while The body of your dreams by Jacob TV with video and audio feed is a kind of synchronization fantasy that translates language into sounds in parallel. After the interval, Dvořák's American Quartet takes us into the sonic world of the New World, inspired by its folklore. Albright's Pypes demonstrates the versatility of the saxophone, which is transformed into a "pype". In addition to these transcriptions of string quartets, Ciudades by Lago is an original work for saxophone quartet that captures various cities in unique soundscapes.
