FZW Indie Night: boebeck + Marta Knight

boebeck (HU)

boebeck is an alternative band from Budapest, Hungary, known for their emotionally charged music and the fragility and self-awareness expressed in their lyrics. After their debut album 2023, the band toured Central Europe and continues to play at major clubs and festivals in Hungary as well as several European showcase festivals, including the Reeperbahn in Hamburg. With the recently released bittersweet EP "lucky", boebeck represents a new alternative indie wave from Central Europe.

Marta Knight (ES)

Marta Knight says she only wants to write songs that she can listen to in her room when everyone is asleep. The 23-year-old Catalan, who was obsessed with Oasis, The Stone Roses and The Smiths in her youth before turning to singer-songwriters such as Johnny Cash, Tracy Chapman and Bob Dylan, writes for the nocturnal space between midnight and dawn. Her songs are soundtracks for nocturnal confessions - moments in which you can just as easily fall in love as stare at the ceiling and wonder what you are actually doing with your life and where it could lead.
