With a modern Afrofusion sound, soulful vocals and dancefloor anthems, Gabzy has long been more than just an insider tip in the British Afrobeat world. His collabs with melvitto make "Trouble", the joint "Summers" EP and the features on his tracks "In Fact" and "Stay" the artist's most successful songs, and with "Jambazz" (number 18 in the UK Afrobeat Radio Charts) he has long since been able to build on this success as a solo artist. After several singles and EPs as well as features on BBC Radio 1, MTV Base, BBC 1XTRA, Complex and other media, the artist also featured on King Promise's song "Perfect Combi" in 2024 and expanded his own sound with atmospheric sounds on his current EP "Round 1". At the beginning of October, Gabzy will be coming to Berlin's Kantine am Berghain and Cologne's Yuca on his After Summer Tour.

Gabriel Akinyemi aka Gabzy was born in Peckham, south London, to a Nigerian family. He discovered his passion for music at an early age, sang in the school choir and navigated his way through various sounds and genres as a teenager. Together with melvitto, he worked on the EP "Summers", which marked a major turning point in his career in 2019 and brought him a large audience in the UK. Gabzy established his status quo in 2020 with his solo EP "Malone ", whereupon he sold out his first shows and attracted international attention. The song "As Friends" is a prime example of the musician's varied sound, which plays around his voice with catchy guitar licks and modern Afrobeats. After his "At The End of The Night" EP (2022), the single "Jambazz" became the musician's biggest solo hit to date in 2023 with a similar musical recipe. Following the success of the song, Gabzy released further singles and his EP "Round 1" in 2024. In mid-May, he released his latest single "30 Degrees", which stands out from the artist's Afrobeat roots with its ethereal sounds and flat vocals. An approach that he will continue to pursue in the future, as he explained to GQ: "It's always about being open, ... trying new things (...), I'm always ambitious and will always try to challenge myself to get better and better."
