Walk & Workshop with Dunjiva Collective

Garden Times is a series of "Drawing and Reading Clubs" held in various gardens, urban landscapes and green spaces. The focus is on communicating biodiversity through artistic approaches and defining the garden as a space, atmosphere and way of thinking. Our concept is about establishing a platform of reciprocity in which we make visible, question and break up relationships and narratives between humans and other living beings, especially plants.

On August 23rd, we will hold a participatory walk that explores the relational space between body and plants through reading and drawing. Here, drawing becomes an immediate poetic gesture that involves cultivating an awareness of plant life and dares to approach inter-relational habitats. Garden Times is an exploration of the garden's potential to affect our perception and extend it towards plants and other more-than-human actors.

Dunjiva Kollektiv, consisting of the artists Dunja Krcek and Ivana Miloš, sees itself as a cooperative cultural initiative with a focus on community-building events that enter into a sustainable dialog with specific locations. These include performative walks, workshops, readings, exhibitions and happenings that deal with the (bio)diversity of different (cultural) landscapes and aim to raise awareness of these through artistic approaches.

Garden Times is part of the PLANT STORIES program, which runs from June to October at ZK/U.
