Uschi Brüning is undisputedly the grande dame of East German jazz and soul. Together with the pianist and composer Stephan König, who is regarded by insiders as the "jazz guru" of Leipzig, she has put together her "Herzenslieder": Songs that have stayed with her for many years. From Brüning's hit "Dein Name" to "Am Abend mancher Tage" or "Als ich fortging" to "Am Fenster" (which they recorded as a duo version for MDR in 2017), they reinterpret these evergreens - intimate and chamber music-like, reduced to the essentials. An evening of emotions that go straight to the heart.
