Release concert

The Gee Hye Lee Trio is delighted to present its new livealbumEncounters, also its fifth trio album, at a release concert in Heilbronn. The trio, consisting of the award-winning pianist Gee Hye Lee, the versatile drummer Mareike Wiening and the renowned double bassist Joel Locher, has impressed audiences in recent years with numerous performances on national and international stages.

For this special concert, the trio will be joined by two other musicians: trumpeter Jakob Bänsch, winner of the 2024 German Jazz Prize, and saxophonist Alexander Sandi Kuhn, who has long accompanied Gee Hye Lee musically. Both bring fresh impulses and new sound colors and give the already multi-faceted sound of the trio even more depth.

With Encounters , the ensemble is embarking on new musical paths. The original compositions by Gee Hye Lee and the creative arrangements by the new line-up combine to create a sensitive, musical journey that will touch the listener.
