Geführte Sternwanderung

In the organizer's words:

We offer you a guided night walk under the starry sky. Starting from the light "polluted" city center, we walk about one kilometer to a meadow where mobile telescopes are set up. On the way there, we will show you that the night sky reveals more stars and other celestial objects the further away we get from the light sources. On the way, we will explain the constellations and their myths and also how to use a rotating star chart. The telescopes are at your disposal for observation. We will show you the most interesting celestial objects that are currently visible.

The Remscheid Astronomical Society is the only one in Germany to offer such stargazing tours regularly and throughout all seasons. Take advantage of this opportunity!

Meeting point: Bus stop directly in front of the entrance to the H2O bathing paradise in Remscheid-Hackenberg.

Attention: Your participation is at your own risk! We do not accept any liability! You must expect poor path conditions on the way and slippery conditions in winter. Always wear sturdy shoes with a non-slip sole and warm clothing. Take a flashlight with you.

The star hike can only take place when the sky is clear (a few clouds may be visible). We will decide about 2 hours before the start whether the star hike will take place, as we still have to make extensive preparations. We will endeavor to post a notice here 1-2 hours before the star hike stating "Star hike cancelled". So please check back here shortly beforehand if possible!

The star walk is free of charge, but we would be pleased to receive your donation to the Remscheid Astronomical Society.
