How can a fragmented, unreconciled world be made comprehensible so that it opens up to meaning again? Navid Kermani poses this question again and again in his texts, directing his gaze precisely to where political conflicts seem to eradicate the human. The question of how to reflect on a world that has become intangible also occupies the theater. Eva Mattes and Roberto Ciulli take Kermani's texts as the starting point and compass for an expedition to question our present. Independently of each other, the two are linked by a long dialog with Kermani and his work. Mattes and Ciulli encounter earlier and more recent texts from his novels and reportages, creating a scenic cosmos that seemingly abruptly juxtaposes personal impressions, dialogues and perspectives on the state of our world: A kaleidoscope of stories and scenes about birth and death, love, hate and mercy - and a passionate, groping attempt to make the splinters of the world shine again.
