glitch bookstore: "Writing Queerness - How can queerness be represented in literature?"

How is queerness portrayed in literature and how can it be portrayed? Which narrative strategies and perspectives can be used for this? This lecture will present various literary texts that deal with queer identity. Across genres - from classic prose to experimental forms - we will take a look at the diversity of queer literary representations of self and others.

The queer feminist bookshop glitch opened its doors in November 2023. In the former premises of Germany's first women's bookshop, a place for queerfeminist literature of all kinds has been created: from fiction to non-fiction, children's and young adult novels, graphic novels and magazines - always on queer, feminist and socially critical topics. Behind the bookshop is a volunteer collective that has set itself the goal of creating a diverse space for discussions and encounters and a safer space for queer people and their stories.
