Have you ever noticed how many geometric shapes you can find in nature?

At this drawing session in Cologne's Flora, we will explore the fascinating patterns and structures of plants and put them on paper.

• I will show you examples of geometric shapes and give you tips on observing & recognizing symmetries and patterns.

• I will give you instructions on how to combine different geometric shapes to create a harmonious picture.

• At the end you will take away ideas on how to implement the techniques you have learned in your own works of art.

Please bring your own pencils and a sketchpad or sketchbook. Just see what material you already have at home and would like to use. It could be fineliners, pencils or watercolor pencils. I can give you suitable tips for all materials. I will bring a green kraft paper for you to test, on which botanical drawings/paintings are particularly effective.

I'm looking forward to a creative morning with you and will be on hand throughout the meeting with my experience as an art teacher and artist.

Afterwards, we will end the drawing meeting in the garden café on site. Participation in the coffee chat is only an option if you feel like it and have time.
