Gespräch zum Buch "Kinder - Minderheit ohne Schutz"

In the organizer's words:

What does it mean to be a child in a society that is getting older and older - and in which young people are often overlooked? How do we ensure that their perspectives are seen and heard?

The Montag Stiftung Urbane Räume, the BOB CAMPUS, the Wuppertal City Library and the Wuppertal Youth Council cordially invite you to an open discussion: The Youth Council meets the social scientist Sebastian Kurtenbach, co-author of the book "Children - a minority without protection. Growing up in an ageing society " - nominated for the German Non-Fiction Prize 2025.

The book by Kurtenbach, Strohmeier and El-Mafaalani asks uncomfortable questions:

• Who actually still represents the interests of children today?

• How is their everyday life changing in the shadow of demographic change?

• And what does it take for young voices to really be heard?

The evening will be moderated by the Wuppertal Youth Council - and offers space for exchange between generations: open, critical, future-oriented.

Everyone is welcome: children, young people, parents, professionals, committed people - and anyone who wants to campaign for more visibility and co-determination for young people.
