Although "Hindsight Is 50/50" is GHOSTWOMAN's third album in 18 months, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Evan Uschenko feels that this is the first album that "finally captures the true nature of the band". The record was mostly recorded live in three days at the analog Kerwax Studios in Brittany, France by Christophe Chavanon (The Good Damn). Uschenko explains: "The first two albums were never meant to be albums. They are like pages from long-burned diaries. With the introduction of Ille van Dessel as co-writer/drummer, the project feels like it has a direction." Overall, it feels darker and denser compared to previous releases, but the sound and mood are more akin to what the project was intended to be when it began in 2016, finally realizing GHOSTWOMAN's creative vision.
