About the book

Gianni Biondillo's novel Quello che noi non siamo (What we are not), which won a major Milanese literary prize, is set in Milan during the years of early fascism. In many voices, it tells of the conflicts surrounding an architecture that was in line with the new rulers and discusses the current question of the political instrumentalization of art and the political orientation of the country as a whole.
