With a vibrant mix of musical influences, Gidiki will create a unique feast of sounds for us all to enjoy - for the first time here in the auditorium of the Collegium Academicum Heidelberg.

The Gidiki band is a musical ensemble that began playing and experimenting with traditional Greek music in 2015. An essential element of the band is the tendency to improvise, which results from the different musical influences of the members. Each live performance serves as an opportunity to experiment with traditional musical forms and rhythms and to build a dynamic relationship with the audience in order to create the conditions for a contemporary "urban festival". The result is a sound that is constantly evolving while preserving the identity and sound of traditional instruments.

Konstantinos Lazos (clarinet, bagpipes, guitar, vocals)
Kostantis Papakonstantinou (drums)
Thodoris Sioutis (violin, vocals)

In 2023, the band released their first album entitled "AHOY". Gidiki Band has performed at major festivals in Greece and has made several tours abroad such as Germany, France, the Netherlands, Belgium and other countries.

A fundamental element of the band is the inclination for improvisation, which arises from the different musical influences of its members. Each live performance serves as an opportunity for experimentation with traditional musical forms and rhythms, as well as for establishing a dynamic relationship with the audience, creating the conditions for a contemporary "urban celebration." Thus, the sound that emerges is constantly shaped and evolving while maintaining the identity and sounds of traditional instruments.
