The Brazilian music scene has witnessed an incredible rise in recent years, and no name is more emblematic of this new wave than Gilsons. With their unique blend of Bahia's vibrant energy and a fresh, authentic sound, the trio of Francisco Gil, João Gil, and José Gil have made waves across the globe, and it all began with their reinterpretation of "Várias Queixas." This track, the first single released by Gilsons, has accumulated over 150 million plays on Spotify, cementing the group's place in contemporary Brazilian music.

Following the success of "Várias Queixas," the band released their first EP, which also featured the hit "Love, Love". This track has likewise garnered massive success, further solidifying Gilsons' reputation as one of the most exciting bands in Brazil. During the pandemic, they carefully curated and released soul-soothing tracks like "Índia" (with Júlia Mestre), "Devagarinho" (with Mariana Volker), and "Besteira" (with the duo Yoún). Their collaborations continued in 2022, when the band released "Deixa Fluir" with Big Up, "Algum Ritmo" with Jovem Dionísio, and a remix of "Love Love" by Alok.

2023 has been another milestone year for the trio. In March, they released "Feito a Maré", a stunning collaboration with Jota.pê, which quickly became a fan favorite. Earlier, the band collaborated with the popular band Lagum on "Céu Rosé." Their trajectory shows no signs of slowing down. In May, Gilsons teamed up with Rachel Reis and Mulú to release the single "BATEU", which surpassed 150,000 plays within its first three days on streaming platforms.

Their debut full-length album, "Pra Gente Acordar", has been a key highlight of their career, earning nominations for prestigious awards, including the Latin Grammy, Prêmio Multishow, Prêmio da Música Brasileira (PMB), and the Faz Diferença Award by Jornal O Globo. Their digital success is matched by their live performances, as the band has graced some of the most prominent festivals in Brazil, including Rock in Rio, Lollapalooza, Coala, Rock the Mountain, and many others. With a staggering 88 shows across 25 festivals, Gilsons continue to captivate audiences with their infectious energy and innovative take on MPB (Brazilian Popular Music).

Earlier this year, during Carnival 2023, the trio teamed up with BaianaSystem and Tropikillaz for the release of "Presente", a track that added yet another dimension to their rich musical repertoire.

With over 3 million monthly listeners on Spotify, countless hit songs, and a growing roster of collaborations with the biggest names in Brazilian music, Gilsons continue to redefine the sound of MPB, bringing a contemporary, pop-infused edge to the genre while remaining rooted in their rich Brazilian heritage.
