GLITCH CHOIR

In the organizer's words:

GLITCH CHOIR transfers the phenomenon of the glitch (the unexpected result of a malfunction in computer games and other digital products) to the analog space and explores how glitches can open up new forms of expression. At the center of the piece is the recomposition of a lament that is deconstructed and transformed through glitching. Historically, public mourning has been a practice predominantly carried out by women, often professional lamenters who expressed their grief on behalf of others.

In this performance, two performers create a collective body of mourning and invite the audience into a resonant, polyphonic space. The vocal distortions inherent in lamentation become a medium that transforms individual grief into a collective disturbance.
