The famous text by the philosopher Plato about the last day of Socrates' life.

Socrates is to be executed in the evening - and philosophizes with his friends. On the justification of the fear of death and what is to be thought of the possibilities of existence even after death. Anselm Lipgens and Uwe Neumann's performance is extremely agitated and aggressive. No solemn speeches. This would not be in keeping with the historical Plato either. They play Socrates, his friends, his wife, a slave and the official who hands Socrates the cup of poison and weeps over it. A battle of wits. But also an evening about Plato's wit. This work is also comprehensible, exciting and enjoyable for any non-philosopher. Thinking is brought to life in an almost erotic way.

Globe Berlin summer season "Power & Powerlessness"

From 20.6. to 13.9. the Charlottenburg Globe Berlin is once again the venue for real popular theater in a unique open-air setting. The current program includes plays by Shakespeare (German/English), Goethe and Schiller, as well as word art evenings and swing concerts. Until the reconstruction of the former Schwäbisch Hall circular theater building on Sömmeringstraße is possible, a ring-shaped catwalk made of wooden components of the future Globe will serve as an open-air stage. The audience sits in the middle of the action. Admission costs between 20 and 26 euros (concessions 16 to 21 euros). Tickets can be booked via www.globe.berlin, directly from Ticketmaster and via the usual advance booking offices (plus additional costs where applicable).
