Thomas Quasthoff has set standards as one of the most important singers of his generation! With his versatile bass-baritone, he has touched audiences with his truthfulness in opera arias and art songs. He bid farewell to classical music in 2012, but he has not retired from the stage. In addition to recitals and moderations, he devotes himself to jazz. Thanks to his keen sense of style, he interprets representatives of the Great American Songbook such as Duke Ellington, George Gershwin and Hoagy Carmichael with electrifying vitality and passionate intensity. His motivation? "The only reason I sing jazz is because I enjoy it so much." Dieter Ilg, Wolfgang Haffner and Simon Oslender, three of the most excellent jazz musicians in Germany, are his best companions!
