GLORY GAME - Dominik Więcek / STICKY FINGERS CLUB

The first modern Olympic Games coincided with the invention of the cinematograph - a moment that fundamentally changed our participation in and perception of sport. Since then, the media narrative has influenced how sports competitions are staged, filmed and experienced. Under the gaze of the camera and the media participation of the audience, rules and processes change. Movements are slowed down, accelerated, repeated in close-ups or shown from different perspectives. The result for the audience is an immersive experience full of drama - sport as spectacle. With conceptual and aesthetic precision, the dance performance GLORY GAME examines the athletic body, from which the rules of the game demand more and more, and its relationship to the audience. Modern sport pushes athletes to their limits and beyond, beyond the biological possibilities of the body. Citius - Altius - Fortius (Faster - Higher - Stronger).
