GLOW UP - Demokratie feiern! 'The Mind Game' & Shekib Mosadeq

A very moving documentary about a 14-year-old refugee from Afghanistan who leaves his home country after the Taliban murdered his father. The teenager captured the life-threatening flight, which many unaccompanied minors take on in order to seek protection in Europe, with his cell phone camera until he applies for asylum in Belgium. But the journey does not end there - how does a young person deal with the enormous psychological pressure, the mistrust of the authorities and the disturbing news from home? A film that makes it possible to change perspective and, through its authenticity, helps to understand the difficulties and pressure people have to deal with both on the escape route and after arriving in Europe.

A special highlight will be the Afghan musician and activist Shekib Mosadeq, who will provide insights into his own experience of fleeing. Shekib is a celebrated and controversial superstar in Afghanistan. Shekib has lived in Germany for years and supports the resistance in Afghanistan with his music.
