Gondwana Records Presents is now arguably our most traditional concert evening, which we curate every year together with our friends at Gondwana Records and to which they invite three of their most captivating artists each time.

We are excited to host the fifth edition of Gondwana Records Presents in 2026 and are proud to announce two incredible acts to celebrate this milestone year.

Ancient Infinity Orchestra, the spiritual jazz ensemble from Leeds, and Gondwana Records' newest addition Ambre Ciel, a composer, violinist, pianist and vocalist from Montreal, Canada, will take the stage. They will present their latest material in special formations and make this evening an unforgettable experience. One more artist to be announced.

Ancient Infinity Orchestra

The 14-piece jazz ensemble, led by double bassist and composer Ozzy Moysey, hails from Leeds, a vibrant hub of creativity in the North of England, home to one of the UK's most innovative and collaborative jazz scenes.

Her debut album River of Light draws on the wellspring of spiritual jazz and is particularly inspired by the soulful sounds of Pharoah Sanders, Alice and John Coltrane - all of whom are referencedin the brilliant track Pharoah Sings.

This is collaborative music from friends celebrating togetherness and the joy of making music. It's a profound, meditative experience where Ozzy draws on philosophy, nature and musical inspirations to encourage a focus on sharing beautiful things with each other and the listener.

Ambre Ciel

Ambre C iel is a composer, violinist, pianist and vocalist from Montreal, Canada, and a purveyor of dreamy, expansive and spacious music. Her sound is inspired by a range of contemporary classical, impressionist and minimalist artists.

She began her musical journey at the age of six by learning the violin and later experimented with pedal effects and looping melodies. While studying at university, she began to delve deeper into composing and songwriting, not only in the world of sound itself, but also in songs made up of multiple layers of violin and voice. She then returned to her "first instrument", the piano, which opened up even more harmonic possibilities.

Here she has created a beautiful, refined album that offers space for string arrangements and other acoustic instruments as well as her own voice, which she sings both in English and in her native French. still, there is the sea was released on June 6, 2025.

Gondwana Records is an independent record label founded in Manchester in 2008 by trumpeter, composer and producer Matthew Halsall and his brother, graphic designer and artist Daniel Halsall.

Inspired by a love of deep, spiritual jazz and British club culture, Gondwana initially focused on releases by Matthew Halsall and saxophonist Nat Birchall, showcasing Manchester's finest jazz talent. In 2012, Gondwana released the debut albums of acoustic-electronic trio GoGo Penguin and folk-jazz minimalists Mammal Hands. In 2018, the Portico Quartet returned to the studio and helped define a strand of progressive electronic and jazz-influenced new music that is one of the label's defining sounds alongside jazz, neo-classical and ambient music. As a result, Gondwana has become home to groundbreaking and progressive new artists such as Hania Rani, Svaneborg Kardyb, Vega Trails and Jasmine Myra.

In 2018, Gondwana Records celebrated its tenth anniversary with a series of multi-artist events, including concerts at Roundhouse London, RNCM Manchester and AB in Brussels. For 2023, label founder Matthew Halsall announced his ninth studio album An Ever Changing View and a major tour including a headline show at the Royal Albert Hall. Gondwana Records Presentsshas featured artists such as Matthew Halsall, Hania Rani, Portico Quartet, Svaneborg Kardyb, Jasmine Myra, Caoilfhionn Rose, Hanakiv and Mammal Hands in the past.

We are very happy to celebrate our fifth anniversary of Gondwana Records Presents on Easter Saturday, April 4, 2026 in the Great Hall of the Elbphilharmonie.
