The Slow Show frontman gets personal.

Goodwin is the solo project of Rob Goodwin, frontman and baritone singer of the British indie pop band The Slow Show. When they took a break from touring in 2023, he set about working on his own songs. The result was a collection of intimate solo recordings that put Goodwin's soulful performance and poetic storytelling front and center. Inspired by the emotive, atmospheric works of artists such as Leonard Cohen and Nick Drake, these deeply personal and vulnerable songs, full of romantic and dreamlike stories, are a comforting sanctuary. They were written and recorded in his new adopted home of Berlin Neukölln in an intense creative session with pianist and producer Lambert.

"Working with Lambert, an artist I've admired for years, had a huge influence on my work. He approaches music with an infectious curiosity. The playfulness of the process encouraged me to write freely and follow my spirit of discovery. I embarked on a new path and was often really lost, but discovered a lot of new things in the process. It's some of my most personal work and I'm both thrilled and excited to share it," says Rob Goodwin himself.
