The Germans are world travel champions. It's a matter of luck if you ever meet one of them at home. Faraway countries, dream beaches or even the Sauerland beckon. Reason enough for Frank Goosen to take a satirical approach to the chronic travel bug. Goosen, an expert on reading trips across Germany, is actively supported by Jakob Hein, who spent his childhood in the GDR and thus in a travel-free zone. It is understandable that he was drawn to the USA afterwards. The writer and psychiatrist with a dry sense of humor wrote cult books such as "Mein erstes T-Shirt" about his experiences there. Dr. Pop approaches the joys of vacations from the musical side with a foray through the archives and amusing samples of unavoidable tourist evergreens through the decades.
