The two artists Martin Fengel and Martin Wöhrl share a fondness for the banalities of everyday life and the beauty in supposedly simple things. As a photographer and sculptor, they explore the world of model railroads and create an expansive kinetic sculpture in the Rathausgalerie.
Martin Fengel is photographer and artist. In addition to numerous publications of his illustrations and photographs for various magazines, he has exhibited in many national and international exhibition venues.
The work of sculptor Martin Wöhrl is characterized by the influences of Minimal Art. In many of his works, he quotes its already classical aesthetic, often ironically refracted through the use of simple, sometimes already found materials.
What the two artists have in common is their playful approach, their renunciation of pathos and exaggeration and a pronounced sense of subtle humor.
