Grand Snail Tour - Golfen 2 in Selm

American golf is a study of the landscape. Only those who are good at it will be good at golf. With the urban minigolf set Sonne Art Minigolf, specially designed for the Grand Snail Tour, SOWATORINI Landschaft invites you to relocate the course to the surfaces of the city: Away from standardized courses, immediate and direct, but be careful with the gully holes. Those who carefully study the topography and surface of public spaces have a clear advantage. After the inauguration of the mobile minigolf course in Oer-Erkenschwick, Selm is all about competition. Golfen II welcomes the all-stars and ultras of the regional scene and promotes the town-twinning exchange between the towns of Selm and Oer-Erkenschwick.

An essential part of the tour is a - gradually expanding - pool of works by (international) artists, which are individually presented and exhibited, but above all actually used. They shine from afar, provide warmth or protection from the rain, invite people to linger, exchange ideas and engage in discussion - and much more.

Based on local newspapers and supplements from the region, which are sent to the author Lütfiye Güzel by project partners and passers-by, Local Blackouts are published in each city. As a poetic evaluation of the local news, Güzel successively creates 53 poems for the Grand Snail Tour by crossing out and blackening text passages. Local references and solidarity are conveyed on various levels in the project presented on conventional press displays: through the collaborative practice of collecting and sharing regional print products and their artistic appropriation by the author.
