Grandmothers of the Future

In the organizer's words:

How did you become the woman facing me today? Five female performers confront their own family histories. They search for differences and similarities in the lives of their German, Greek, Iranian, Egyptian, Ukrainian and Palestinian grandmothers. In an energetic performance full of live music, a many-voiced network of cultures and traditions unfolds. The (self-)narratives range from the beginnings of the early 20th century to the future and span three generations on two continents.

The theater production focuses on the cultural heritage that each of us carries within us and creates a space in which retrospectives, future scenarios and dreams of a pluralized society can be heard and negotiated.
