About the ensembles
JASSA brings together young Berlin FLINTA* people, feminism and sophisticated choral music. As a self-organized upper voice ensemble, they develop contrasting programs in project phases that follow a dynamic line between jazz/pop and classical choral music. In line with their feminist vision, they want to create a safer space for non-binary and queer people and make female and queer composers more visible through a targeted selection of pieces. Since its foundation in 2021, the choir has been directed by Johanna Brüll.

AVOPA creates music in the moment - a creative process full of magic and spontaneity. The six professional singers from Denmark and Germany, Margrethe Debel, Philip Eick, Frieda Funk, Mira Siegel, Tjeda Efken and Niels Jensen, shape their sounds live, guided by a non-verbal sign language, vocal painting. Harmonies emerge, rhythms break up, moods change - nothing is planned, everything is possible. Instead of fixed arrangements, soundscapes are created that unfold anew at every moment. But above all: expect the unexpected!
Look forward to a concert that playfully explores new sounds and brings the creative possibilities of the voice to life.
