Grey Scale w/ Lebanon Hanover • Muffathalle • München

In the organizer's words:

In June, William Maybelline visited us with his General Dynamics project and previously sent us on a dystopian trip under his pseudonym QUAL. Now he returns with Larissa Iceglass as LEBANON HANOVER. The two mix hypnotic Joy Division basslines with large-scale synth storms, electric but also acoustic guitars and show a deep fondness for Victorian poets and novelists such as Oscar Wilde or William Wordsworth in their lyrics.

"Initially, we just wanted to reproduce classic new wave and post-punk from the early 80s. But nostalgia, the denial of doing something new and original was never the goal. We wanted to be a band that sounds like an unknown discovery from 1982," explains Larissa Iceglass. With their latest album "Sci-Fi Sky", however, they have deviated from this approach. The minimal pieces became more maximal, the guitars are oriented from black metal and shoegaze to neofolk and so LEBANON HANOVER created their very own sound amalgam that they themselves call "doomwave".
