This evening with lots of wit, humor and thoughtful overtones is also a cheerful and thoughtful celebration of the German language inspired by the Grimm brothers' dictionary. In 1838, they were commissioned to compile a dictionary that they were never able to complete themselves. Günter Grass took a contemporary look at it in his series of poems "Grimm's Words".
Today, for example, new words have been added to the letter A: Arbeiterführer, Arbeitslos, Arbeitsamt, Arbeitsbeschaffungsmaßnahme etc. Or which words are feminine, which are masculine and why? A humorous, sensual tour de force through the alphabet in which all the stops are pulled out.
