Paris in the 1820s: Four people meet. One is the beautiful and mysterious Garance, who makes every man's heart beat faster. The mime Debureau falls madly in love with her, but soon has to compete with two other admirers for Garance. To escape a murder plot, however, she marries Count de Montray. A few years later, Garance returns to Paris. The four of them meet again and fate takes its course: in the tragic consequence of the plot, the characters are intertwined in many ways, come together again and again and cannot break away from each other...
KINDER DES OLYMP was partly made under German occupation in France during the Second World War and therefore had to be filmed in secret. An outstanding example of poetic realism, it is a masterpiece of French film history!
