Groove

In the organizer's words:

GROOVE plays with the connection between dance and music in a pop-cultural context: dance on music, music for dance. This relationship is questioned, deciphered and integrates the viewer's personal experiences as a potential dancer in the club, at the party, at home. The collective memory triggered by this is reinforced by familiar movement patterns and familiar music. The focus is on the personal groove, the very own way of moving to the music. Accompanied by a percussionist, the choreography of the three urban dancers unfolds as if in a maelstrom. GROOVE is dedicated to our urge to move to music and at the same time searches for the moment when we forget everything around us while dancing.

About Jonas Frey

Jonas Frey explores the potential of urban dance in the context of contemporary choreography. The focus of his artistic work is on the deconstruction of urban dance forms and is based on close cooperation between all the artists involved.
