Audio-theatrical installation by Felix Kruis & folklicht*

In 2024, the Prinzenpalais has been observing life in Reichsstraße in Wolfenbüttel for over 400 years. It has seen a wide variety of residents, various conversions and diverse uses. What can the house tell us in 2024? Which encounters does it remember and which has it already forgotten?

The Palais' existence has been particularly shaped by sound and music. By chance, or perhaps precisely because of this, an astronaut from another planet suddenly appears . With his strange research instrument KONTAKT, he follows noises, sounds and other acoustic information that seem to resonate in all the materials of which the Prinzenpalais is made: Where and how can these sounds be found? With the audio-installative musical instrument KONTAKT, the astronaut can uncover sounds, conduct, amplify and decode them and transmit them to the audience's headphones. The star transducer tries to uncover acoustic memories in the material, in the wood, in the stones or in the clay of the building. Which events forgotten by the house itself can the astronaut perhaps rediscover? How does he assess the acoustic treasure from the perspective of other galaxies and can it touch him personally? Accompany him as part of his expedition group on an acoustic expedition through the individual rooms of the Prinzenpalais.
