Wolpertinger
a Parasitcom by Benno Heisel and folklicht*

An ensemble of brick buildings has taken up residence on Marktstraße between Juliusmarkt and Oker. Only those who look closely can make out the former company signs painted on the façade. Between 1887 and 1919, four different breweries occupied the buildings in succession; they were auctioned off at least three times and some were demolished again. Air raid shelters and an ice cellar nest in the depths. Each building tells a different story and has a different view of the world above and below ground.

The ice cellar has been forgotten. But of course it was always down there. He listened to the sound of the Oker at the Julius weir and the conversations on the street above the window shafts. He longed for life, beer and hustle and bustle. He is hungry.

An ensemble of life forms, the Wolpertinger, has taken up residence in the ice cellar. A mythical creature made up of the most diverse life forms with the most diverse personalities. The Wolpertinger likes the ice cellar. The ice cellar likes the Wolpertinger. Some of him. And he is hungry.

The Wolpertinger has planned a show. A fine little evening about his life, dreams and desires. But instead, a turbulent struggle for control breaks out. Who chooses the music? Who gets to speak? And who is actually in charge? Which of the Wolpertinger's various personalities? Or the ice cellar? But they all invite you in for a beer. In the cellar. Many would be happy to see you. Some might not.

Discover a performance like no other: Object and puppet theater, music, cabaret and animatronics, Eiskeller and Wolpertinger merge into an indomitable art organism!
