Freilichttheater Grüne Bühne München spielt "Der Revisor" von Nikolai Gogol im Westpark München

A small Russian town is in turmoil: it is rumored that an auditor is coming to town - incognito. The town mayor and his officials are preparing to present their provincial town in the best possible light - and to conceal the whole web of corruption and nepotism as best they can.

A young traveler at the inn behaves suspiciously. It must be him! So he is visited, courted and showered with favors. The rouble rolls. Everything goes smoothly. He even wants to marry the town captain's daughter - too good to be true.

Gogol's play about corruption and double standards from 1836 is a highly topical comedy of mistaken identity in which everyone is dirty, but in its colourful array of human weaknesses there is also a chance for everyone to recognize themselves and laugh at themselves.

"The Revisor" is our first major production, so don't miss it! Because "every beginning has a..." - You already know.

Grüne Bühne München was founded in 2024 - by an ensemble made up of long-standing participants from various Munich theaters.

What unites us: a love of outdoor theater, the desire for artistic ownership - and the conviction that theater can be relevant and lively. And this has grown into something more: a space where nature, art and people come together - driven by the desire to create sustainable theater for everyone, and we take a holistic approach to sustainability: ecological, social and human.
