Is it possible to show the unimaginable?

Guernica Guernica is a visually powerful experience - without words, but full of impressions. Inspired by Pablo Picasso's famous painting, the theater collective FC Bergman questions our view of war, images and violence. The media shape our perception - but what do they really show?

The stage becomes a battlefield, a work of art, a place of excessive demands. Music, film and crowd scenes replace language. Victims, perpetrators, spectators - we are all part of the production. With the world premiere of Guernica Guernica, FC Bergman, winner of the Silver Lion at the Venice Biennale 2023, brings an intense, radical work to the Ruhrtriennale 2025.

The Ruhrtriennale is the festival of the arts in the Ruhr region - a celebration for all those who yearn for tomorrow. Touching experiences of music theater, drama, dance and more are created between machine halls and blast furnaces.
