The seemingly incidental collection of data and the handling of the resulting data volumes has become a social issue that is increasingly coming to public attention as digitalization progresses. There is great concern that too much knowledge about us as individuals is being hoarded by individual companies or authorities through the data collected on the basis of our everyday behavior - and that we are left in the dark when it comes to evaluating it.
At the same time, however, data also harbors great opportunities for social progress: improving mobility concepts, promoting public health prevention, shaping urban spaces, strengthening environmental protection - these are all fields that can be shaped with the help of data. The evening's guests will provide impulses from three different perspectives on the opportunities and risks as well as the necessary framework conditions for the use of data for the common good and will discuss these afterwards.
