Hachiku

In the organizer's words:

HACHIKU is the brainchild of German-Australian producer Anika Ostendorf who, together with band members Jessie Warren (she/her; bass, BVs), Georgia Smith (they/she; guitar, BVs) and Simon Reynolds (he/him - drums), writes and produces open-minded indie rock with alt-pop appeal. With the release of their self-recorded and mixed EP Hachiku (2017) and critically acclaimed debut LP I'll Probably Be Asleep (2020), Hachiku have steadily built a loyal global fanbase built on catchy melodies, shimmering walls of sound and their lauded live performances.

Hachiku are regularly supported by NPR's All Songs Considered, Bandcamp, DIY Magazine, Clash Magazine and NME, and are consistently invited to support household names in the UK, Europe, the US and Australia - including Courtney Barnett, Jen Cloher, The Breeders, José González, Snail Mail and many more, including festival appearances at Iceland Airwaves, SXSW and Melbourne Music Week. Ostendorf is also a frequent collaborator with Jen Cloher and co-produced her fifth album I Am The River, The River Is Me (2023).

The long-awaited second album - The Joys Of Being Pure At Heart- will be released in February 2025. We will be welcoming Hachiku to the Hebebühne on April 19 with this album in tow and we promise it will be fantastic.
