We have mastered history brilliantly. And we toast to that with non-alcoholic Augustiner at yoga, bake our own sourdough bread after ice bathing and promise our women, almost believably, that their future will be a fairer one. Even with us.

We have just found the right mindset for us in the downward-looking dog, when a world situation comes along that once again cries out for yesterday: for lowered burners, for ice-cold impostors, for fat pants and thin brains and old truths in new media.

Who is supposed to protect us from this? Is it ourselves? How is that supposed to work? Before we cry out for new protectors, we should look for something else: a hormone. Testosterone is the cause, but also the solution!
