Wong Kar-Wei's classic about a love affair in Buenos Aires

Hong Kong couple Lai and Ho want to visit Argentina together to save their relationship. But things go badly wrong. The two go their separate ways. They don't have the money for the return trip and end up stranded in Buenos Aires. Lai becomes a bouncer at a tango bar and Ho keeps his head above water as a sex worker. One evening, Ho appears seriously injured at Lai's door, who lovingly takes him in and actually looks after him. Is this a chance for a new beginning? The conflicts between the two men seem insurmountable, but separation is also painful.

Wong Kar-Wei poetically and lovingly tells a love story full of longing and hope for freedom and love. Christopher Doyle's beguilingly beautiful images and the film's soundtrack are not the least of the things that keep you watching.
