THE ART OF JAZZ HARMONICA - FEN MASTER WORKSHOP with Filip Jers

Immerse yourself in the world of the chromatic jazz harmonica with this course and learn essential jazz harmonica techniques with Filip Jers. This includes articulation, tone formation and control of the instrument, but also basic improvisation methods such as melodic and harmonic improvisation. The course introduces a varied repertoire of jazz standards that are particularly well suited to the chromatic harmonica. Filip Jers will show you how to build effective practice routines that will help you make rapid progress on the instrument.

To make good progress in the course, you should be able to play single notes with confidence. Please bring a chromatic harmonica in the key of C (any size is suitable). The language of instruction is English.

THE TEACHER
Filip Jers is one of the most famous harmonica players in the world. His way of playing the harmonica is unique in its artistry and sound, full of emotion and playfulness. His musical palette is lyrical, colorful and full of contrasts. Jers was the first harmonica player ever to graduate from the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm and has performed in more than 30 countries worldwide. In 2016, he received the Swedish Radio's Jazzkatten award for Musician of the Year.
